With the return of rain in March, planting season occupied most of Kakamega for the month of April.

The agriculture team at United Kenya Rising (UKR) guided UKR's family farmers throughout the process as they implemented lessons learned over the previous months.

Armed with new skills and quality inputs, over 130 UKR family farms have turned into lush promises of a good harvest.

From the UKR nursery, families have recently received nearly 1,000 tree seedlings for fruit or soil conservation, and over 17,000 vegetable and fodder splits or seedlings. Community members have received some of them, and UKR is working on ramping up its nursery production to offer more seedlings to its families and their communities.
